Joanne Giorgi
Joanne Giorgi graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing. After graduation, Joanne worked for the GAP Corporation as a corporate buyer for 7 years. Upon the birth of her identical twin daughters, Natalie and Danielle, Joanne became a full time mom. For the past 13 years Joanne has been an advocate for her children’s health needs. She is now devoted to advocating for all children with food allergies.
Louis Giorgi, Jr., M.D.
Louis Giorgi, Jr., M.D., is now serving as the Director of Healthcare for the Western Dominican Order of Catholic priests and brothers. Additionally, he volunteers as a general medical officer at the Order of Malta Clinic each Wednesday. The injuries sustained the night of Natalie’s loss necessitated this change due to the physical inability to perform surgery. He graduated from Creighton University and then earned his medical degree from St. Louis University. Louis proudly served as a Naval Flight Surgeon with the United States Marine Corps prior to completing his urology residency at Albany Medical Center. He is committed to protect his children and others from the dangers of food allergies.
Dr. David Hagen, Ed.D
David Hagen spent thirty-three years in the field of education serving as a Principal, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent prior to retiring from the Huntington Beach Union High School District located in Southern California. Prior to his retirement he served on the Educational Deans Advisory Committee for the University of Southern California and regional President and board member for the Association of California School Administrators. He currently is a Board member and Educational Chairman for Opera Carolina serving the communities of North Carolina and South Carolina.
Veronica Hagen
Veronica Hagen is the retired CEO of Polymer Group Inc. an international manufacturer specializing in non-woven materials used in the medical, wipes, industrial and hygiene markets. Previously she was the CEO of Sappi Fine Paper and President of the Engineered Products Business Unit for Alcoa. She currently serves on the board of directors of Newmont Mining Corporation and the Southern Company as well as the board of Polymer Group Inc.
Ryan Lucchetti
Ryan Lucchetti is President of PABCO building products, LLC., an industry leading manufacturer of drywall, roofing and paper products. Ryan graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a BA in History after attending Jesuit High School in Carmichael, California. He has been active in a number of industry associations serving on the board of the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange and the Gypsum Association. Ryan is a current board member of the Francis House who has a mission to provide relief, resources and hope to those suffering homelessness and poverty. He serves on the Pat Anderson Grandchildren Family Foundation which awards grants to local children’s charities and organizations. Ryan enjoys playing basketball, scuba diving, skiing and watching sports while spending as much time as possible with family and friends. He lives in Wilton, California with his wife Candace and their four children.
Candace Lucchetti
Candace Lucchetti is a former elementary school teacher who is currently raising her 4 children. She works part‐time as the Scholarship Coordinator for the Pacific Coast Building Products Foundation. Candace graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a BA in Sociology. After graduating college, Candace worked in hotel management and casino marketing in Reno, Nevada. Candace is very active in her children’s school community and serves on numerous committees. Candace volunteers her time and resources to non‐profit organizations including Ronald McDonald House Charities, WIND Youth Services, Cristo Rey High School, and Volunteers of America. Candace is involved with the Pat Anderson Grandchildren Family Foundation which awards grants to various local children’s charities and organizations. Candace enjoys running, hiking, cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She lives in Wilton, California with her husband Ryan and their four children.
John McGinness
John McGinness spent over 27 years experience with the Sheriff’s Department and has served in every service area of the Department. He is a highly decorated veteran with a background in many high profile assignments.
John McGinness served for many years as a member of the elite Sheriff’s Motorcycle Detail where he was a training officer and team leader. He also served as a CSI investigator, homicide detective and department spokesman. John McGinness promoted through the ranks and ultimately commanded the Centralized Investigation Division until he was appointed Undersheriff in March of 2001. Mr. McGinness served as Undersheriff until elected Sheriff in 2006.
John McGinness is an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice, Communications, Leadership and Professional Studies with the California State University. John McGinness serves as a frequent guest host on Sacramento’s top rated News Talk radio program broadcast on AM 1530, KFBK.
John McGinness holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Public Administration and a Master of Science Degree in Emergency Services Administration from the California State University, Long Beach, and is a graduate of the prestigious West Point Leadership Institute. John McGinness was appointed to the POST Commission by Governor Schwarzenegger in 2007. John McGinness lives in Folsom, California with his wife, Peggy, and their two children.
Kelly Brothers
Few have been able to rise to the top of their professions in radio, television and finance. At various points in his nearly 30 year broadcast career, Kelly Brothers has anchored the number one evening newscast in Sacramento on KCRA-TV and the number one morning news show on NewsTalk 1530 KFBK.
He is currently a partner in Genovese Burford and Brothers, a firm which specializes in wealth management and retirement plans, and has more than $2.5 billion under management. He is also the Financial Expert for both KCRA-TV and NewsTalk 1530 KFBK. He currently sits on numerous Boards, including acting as Chairman of the Board for the Catholic Foundation of Sacramento.
Kelly graduated as Valedictorian from Jesuit High School in Carmichael. He has a BBA and an MBA in International Finance from the University of Notre Dame. He also did post-graduate work at the London School of Business.
Don Wreden, M.D. — Advisory Role
During his leadership of SMG from 2001 to 2013, the multispecialty medical group grew from 150 to more than 500 physicians, now caring for 600,000 patients. SMG has been recognized in multiple years since 2004 as one of the top-performing medical groups in California based on quality measures and patient satisfaction by California’s Integrated Healthcare Association. For its successes, SMG, together with Sutter Medical Foundation, have received the Sutter Health President’s Award 5 times since 2004 for most outstanding performance as a physician organization.
Dr. Wreden holds a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College. He completed his medical education at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and completed his residency and chief residency at the University of Arizona affiliated hospitals.
Mark Grijnsztein, M.D. — Advisory Role
Mark Grijnsztein was born and raised in New York. He attended Tufts University as an undergraduate and then Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. His three-year pediatric residency was at NS-LIJ hospital in Long Island, NY. He was pediatric chief resident. He held an allergy fellowship at NS-LIJ hospital. He was in private practice in New Jersey for 2 years before Joining Sutter Medical group in 2006. He is married with three children.
